Old Church Tavern 10 v 23 Sherburn

Sherburn fought all the way in this top battle in Division Three, and could not rest for one minute
against a determined Old Church who fought till the final whistle.First to score was Paul Wilshaw who
went in at the side of the post's and converted is try to make the score 6-0 to Sherburn. Rob Smith then went in for Old Church out wide kick was missed 6-4.Sherburn then had a purple patch in which they scored 14 points Paul Garnes went in at the side of the sticks for Wishaw to convert 12-4. A
second try from Garnes in the 30 minute made it 16-4. Wilshaw then scored his second try again the
conversion missed 20-4.Mick Firth then went under the post for Church Luke Thomas converted to
make the half time score to Sherburn 20-10. The second half saw only 3 points scored buy Sherburn
a penalty goal from Steve Wood and a drop goal from Paul Wilshaw to end the scoring at 10-23 to Sherburn. Sherburn now have East Leeds
and Manston to play third and top of League respectively
