Ossett T 30 v 8 Middleton M
This game was the top of the table clash and one that Ossett had to win if they where going to win the
League.From the start Ossett wnere all over Middleton and it wasn't long befor Antony Linsey shot under the sticks for a good try, Sid Lindsey converted 6-0.Middleton hit back with a penalty for offside Neil Orr popped over the conversion 6-2. Back came Ossett and this time Sid Linsey scored a try at the side of the post which he duly converted 12-2.Middleton were determined not tolet Ossett get away and just befor half time Mark Appleyard scored a great try under the post and Orr converted 12-8 H-T.
Second half saw Ossett score three unanswered tries and three conversions to win the game and go two points clear at the top of the league.Middleton have two games in hand and need to win all to take the Championship.Ossett tries scores were Antony Linsey second, Damion Platt,and Steve Beard with
Lindsey converting one try and Declon Brown converting two to bring the final score to 30-8 to Ossett.
Crofton C 66 v 16 Methley R
Crofton could nick fourth place if all above results went in their favour.
This game was the easiest they had left. Scoring twelve tries and nine goals to give them sixty six points ,.Methley had three tries and two conversions for their sixteen points.Croftons Scott Turner lead the way with four tries other scorers were Paul Tinsley two Chris Storey got two as did Bill Cooper.Tom Taylor chipped in with one along with Ben Yates. Richard Garbutt kicked over nine conversion's to score eighteen points and give his team a win 66-16. Methley's scorers were Tom Kaye, Michel Astbury and Michel Brandson with tries Matt Carriss Wright and Michel Jacques both converted a goal apiece for their sixteen points Methley will regroup stronger in Division two next season.
